Bargello Style Quilts

Bargello quilting developed from needlework with the same name. A geometric pattern enhanced by color play, bargellos can be a variety of color or a single color in many hues. Evenly cut stripes of fabric are sewn together into a tube, then the tube is cut into verified size stips. These tubed strips of fabric are separated between different fabrics, rotating the colors with the different size strips. They are then sewn together in the bargello pattern of choice. The varied strip sizes add to the effect of movement; thinner strips create a sharper movement, where larger strips create a more gentle movement.

Pinwheel

The pinwheel is a classic pattern that uses light and dark colors to show the pinwheel effect. The diversity of this pattern is endless, and particularly great for baby quilts because it highlights the children's fabric. It can also make for a stylish larger quilt with a more mature fabric.

Sampler

You can make endless quilt patterns and sizes with a two color square. I have created a sampler quilt to show the diversity of this one block. With made-to-order quilts, all dimensions of block and borders are adjustable.
